This afternoon to contribute to the advent conspiracy, the young adults put on an ice skating fundraiser. Quite a few young adults and older members came to help and raise money for families who kids go to the local elementary school. We skated for 3 hours with no injuries…some of us did fall though. After some of us headed to Tim horton for much need coffee and food. Overall a great. Fun time And a great fundraiser…will post the amount we raised when I find out.
Ice skating fundraiser a success

Prayer Requests
Hi guys,
This post is a prayer request….my mom recently has had high blood pressure lately and she has been trying to control with medication, but she ended up having a stroke a few days ago anyways. Thank God it didn’t leave her with many deficiets, but she is currently seeing double vision. This really concerns me. Please pray for my mom that she gets her blood pressure under control and that she doesn’t have another stroke, heart attacke etc. Also please pray that the double vision isn’t permanent. I do love my mom very much and would appriciate it.

Moving, break-ups, Victoria and Canucks.
Hey Everyone!
Yes it’s been awhile since I have last posted. I have been really busy working as a nurse. The transition between student and R.N has been a challenging transition to say the least. Either way, here is a snippet of what has been happening….
1) Moving- I have temporarily moved to Coquitlam for a little while. My permenant address is still in PoCo so if you need to write me anything continue to use my PoCo address.
2) Break-up- Men, can’t live with them can’t live without them…My boyfriend and I broke up last month. I was completely devastated and did not want to talk to anyone. I could not believe after all the years we were together we were finally done. Lots of crying in my pillow. I gotta say though, I love my friends. Even though i was in no mood to talk to anyone they still showed their loved. Even my friend who is in Japan! God has blessed me with good friends.
3) Victoria and Canucks- So eventually, my bf and I did get back together. Our relationship is stronger and better than ever! We even went to Victoria last weekend to reconnect. It was a good decision. We saw many things including the Parliment building, BC Royal Museum, Ghost walks….I even got attacked by a Seagull! Note to anyone who goes to Victoria to feed the seals, the Seaguls are vicious! The crazy bird literally flew into my hand, knocking out a peice of fish i was holding, swooped down and took the fish that I was going to give the seal. My hand hurt for 2 days!!!!! Video of the seal on my youtube account (or will be soon). Big thank you to D, who allowed us to stay at her house. After Victoria we went to the Canuck game where, I got in a little bit of trouble with my camera. This is what happened…I have a Cannon SLR. My lens is an 18-200 len. Apparently on the website (not on the ticket or anything) it states visitors to GM place are not permitted to have a camera with a lens more tha 75….now..my 200 is quite more impressive than a 75 lens so I was asked, politely, but to my dissapointment to put away my camera or else they would erase my photos. Why you may ask is a len size such a big deal? With my lens I am able to get close up shots of the players…this would of course, inlcude their name, jersey and logo…which is apparently a copyright infringment against the NPHL. Thankfully the usher allowed me to take as many pics as I wanted during the warm up but when the game started I had to put it away.

GO CANUCKS GO
So that’s my update. Not very interesting, but hey i’ve been working like six days a week….

Seals are cute...watch out for the birds though.

Texas
Texas, the Lone star state, the home of Former president Bush, Jonas Brothers, Dr. Pepper and…MY family auntie Sherry, uncle Anthony, K and M. So how did I unexpetantly end up in Texas? Well, it’s all thanks to my Auntie Sherry, who graciously offered to pay my way to Texas…I was totally shocked! all expesnive paid soooo cool! so I hoped on a plan to Plano Tx. I was so excited to see my family because i haven’t seen them in awhile. The first thing we did was hang out by their pool! They have an awesome pool with a hot tub and a fountain. We sat in a huge float chair that all three of us lounged in. Sometimes, the girls accidently tipped. I wish I was still in Texas, my cousins are the best!

Life can be so short sometimes…R.I.P Matt and Dr. Binder
Warning, this post might be a bit sad.
First, I would like to say send out my sympathy and prayers to the families and friends of Matt Pedersen and Dr. Binder, MD. You might ask yourself, who are these people? Matt Pedersen was a pilot. He passed away in the plan crash in Richmond on Thursday, July 9th. Matt and I attended the same high school. Dr. Binder was a medical doctor I worked with at the hospital. I saw her just last week. She passed away due to a Motor Vechical Accident in Chilliwack on Saturday July 11.
This gets me to think that life can be too short, and we can never know when the Lord will call us home. It has given me a chacne to reflect and thank God for the gifts, friends and family he has given me…and to thank him for the life I still have. I have been feeling kinda down lately because lately my life has been surrounded by death…and not just Matt and Dr. Binder…If the past few weeks have taught me anything, it’s to be thankful for the life you have and enjoy it, because you just never know when God will call you home.

Disneyland trip Summary
Hi everyone!
So I know I didn’t get to blogg when I was at Disneyland (sorry). So here is a summary. First off, Tyler, Christine and I did the usual things. We went on all the rides (the first ride we did was Pirates of the Carribean) and saw the usual sites like Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. None of the rides broke down with me on them this time! (before Pirates broke down on me with me in it). Since Disneyland is my home away from home Tyler and I decided to do things we have never done before. Somethings not many people even know about. The first thing I have never done was actually stay at a Disneyland resort (Disneyworld does not count). I loved it! I didn’t need to get up 6 AM just to get to Disneyland by 8. We could go back to the hotel if we wanted to and we got to see a lot of Downtown Disney. We stayed at the Disneyland Pier Hotel. The rooms were really nice too and the shampoo bottles were shaped like Mickey’s head (is that considered a hidden mickey?). I took some of the shampoo bottles so shhh…don’t tell Disney. Another “first” for me is the riding the Mark Twain boat (why i haven’t been on this boat i don’t know..Sally why have we never gone on this together?). Not only did I get to ride the boat but I got be the “captain” and sign the captain’s log book, use the steering wheel and pull the cords that make the bells and whisltles goes. Being the “captain” isn’t somthing everyone gets to do..you either get asked or you have to ask them if it’s okay so this was pretty special. Another special thing I did was waking up Jose the bird in the Tiki Room to start the attraction show. This is another thing you have to ask or be asked to do. I have been in the Tiki room many times but never got to “wake” up Jose, the host of the show.
Tyler, Christine and I also took pictures of special Disneyland things that not everyone knows about. We took pictures of Walt Disney’s apartment in disneyland, took a picture of the dream suite which is ontop of the Pirates of the Carribean attraction, Club 33 (a VIP disney club that has a 10 year waiting). We rang the bell to club 33 but they didn’t answer. I think it’s because they saw i was wearing jeans. I also took pictures of a hidden mickey at the animation station, the Lilly Belle, which was Walt’s private coach on the Disneyland railroad train attraction. At Universal I also got to take pictures of Wisteria Lane AKA Desperate Housewives street…We actually got to go onto the street this time!
We also met a some pretty cool people at Disneyland. The first person I met was Morgan, she was celebrating her graduation as well and possibly be in the seatle production fo Wicked! Break a leg Morgan! Let me know how it goes! We met Morgan at the media fireworks event. She is actually related to the person who plays Aladdin in the Aladdin show in California adventures. We also met Andrew (twice). We first met Andrew in the Tiki Room, when i asked if I could wake up Jose. We talked about disneyland, disney history ect. He was the person who told us about the Lilly Belle. When Tyler and I got the chance to see the Lilly Belle it was late and I was a bit silly. I walked right up to a guy Obviously a railroad conductor for the ride and asked “are you a conductor for the ride?” yup…that’s how tired i was…LOL…of course he said yes and I asked about the Lilly Belle and he said it was running that night…i swear my face lit up. I was so focused on talking to this conductor that I didn’t notice another conductor there watching this…it was Andrew from the Tiki Room! He recognized Tyler and I. I think i was more caught off guard cause I thought he usually works on the Jungle Curise ride. At any rate as we waited for the train, Tyler and I talked to Andrew again about Disneyland, Disney history and the grad party they had the last two nights there…and no, i didn’t get to go even though I did graduate…it was for specific high school California students..
Anyways Andrew showed us the Lilly Belle, got a picture of Ty and I beside it. I also got a pic of Andrew as well. Another person was a guy named Kevin from City Hall. I can’t remember why we went into city hall but Kevin and I ended up talking for like half and hour about Disney secrets (did you know that at first the Pirates ride only had REAL bones donated from science?). He was very knowlegable…Ty and I had a very enjoyable conversation with him. I also met a Disney star at Disneyland! Selena Gomez star of the Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place was at the firework media event and I got her autograph and picture. You would not beleive the amount of people there screaming her name! just amazing you’d think it was Brad Pitt and Angelina. Meeting Selena was pretty cool, I didn’t think she was as nice as Hilary Duff, but i’m bias that way
Definately nicer than Jessica Alba…
There were two new rides I got to go on. the Midway Toy Story Mania ride, and the Simpsons ride at Universal. The Toy Story ride really needs to be a fast past (as well as Finding Nemo!). Other than that the ride was pretty fun, you get to sit in this car and compete against the person beside you on several midway games. Pretty fun. Mr. Potato head outside of the ride was cool. He actually talked to peple…and I dont’ mean pre-recorded he’d be like “hey you! yeah you in the 49er’s hat” and the person in the 49er hat would be “what the? me?” so you can actually have a conversation with Mr. Potato head. I say the ride is really good, 8/10 for a non-thrill ride but really need a fast past. The Simpson ride at Universal was also fun. You get to be in a simulator through Krustyland wihle Side Show Bob tires to kill you and the Simpsons. It’s more of a thrill ride than Toy Story but on the Simpsons ride you a get a bit wet (what’s with a lot of rides getting you wet? ewwww). i give it a 8/10 as well.
Video surprises was also a mission of mine. I wanted to get to two main videos. One for my friends Amy and Jill for graduating unviersity and another for my friend Brittany for getting married. The first “talking” character I saw was Alice, which is somthing really special cause there is a huge following of Alice and the Madhatter on Youtube….They are awesome at their job! really good performers. Anyways I got Alice to say congratulations to my friends Jill and Grace, and she really went far beyond a congrats. She even spoke Japanese! that really shocked me. For my friend’s Brittany’s video i wanted to get Ariel, but unfortunately you only get to see her now at her resturant which you need to pay 38 dollars to eat there. I was pretty dissapointed….but then i saw Cinderella at Goofy’s kitchen and I thought, it may not be Ariel but at least its’ a Princess…Cinderella did a wonderful job i thought…It was a really cute video. I also got some videos of Tigger, Chip and Minnie dancing, Mary Poppins, the tea cup ride and Captain Hook chasing Peter Pan!
So that is the highlight of my trip. I miss my second home already. To see my pictures go to my photo albums I posted some of the pictures and to see the videos i’ve mentioned go to my links. Most of the videos are already up.

A Selfish rant… :-s
Okay, first off I have to say I know what I am going to post may sound a bit selfish…but I can’t help how upset I feel and it really really really upsets me. Thinking about it as well, I don’t really express a lot of my selfish stuff so this is one of the few exceptions…if anything just to rant so i feel better….
Okay so here we go…
I just graduated from post secondary school and a few months ago. Some people in my class offered to be the “graduating comittee” last semester but we never heard anything about a graduation party and I heard that the graduation comittee kinda disbanded. So i figured that there was going to be no grad party…Nope I was wrong…literally on the SECOND TO LAST DAY OF CLASSES it was decided that there was going to be a party in June. THE SECOND TO LAST DAY!!!! unfortuantely I had already booked my vacation and will not be here on that day. This really upset me…for several reasons…
1) Who plans a big grad event second to last day we are all going to see each other!!!!!!!! Seriously the date should have at least been thought of a long time ago…and if the so-called “grad committe” did not have time to plan it, than they should have said somthing a long time ago and asked for somone else to take over…that’s called responsibility and leadership!!!
2) I worked my butt off during these last four years….countless hours of crying, lack of sleep, suicide thoughts and lack of social life….I think i freakin deserve to celebrate and actually feel good about myself and recognize that I actually did somthing worthwhile. Graduating from nursing school is a BIG DEAL….
3) IT”S A FORMAL PARTY!!!!!! so anyone who knows me, knows i love to dress up and pretty formal dresses….Unfortuantely the only time i can think of that I would be able to dress up is at my wedding and graduation…It’s somthing i’ve been dreaming about for four years…showing up in a nice beautiful prom dress….buying a nice prom dress….so nice….nope…now i’m down to one time i’ll be able to feel special and beautiful….at my Wedding…not that i’m not looking forward to that….but it depresses me that it’s the only time i can think of that i’ll get to wear beautiful dresses and feel like a princess. Now the graduation party wasn’t even going to be a formal thing…some people didn’t want it to be..but majority ruled it to be a formal….if it wasn’t a formal thing i wouldn’t be so upset…
4) I want to celebrate my graduation! is that seriously a bad request? I feel like i’m missing out on apart of my celebration….which i put a lot and i mean a lot of hard work and sweat (please see above regarding the torturous four years).
Now i know what you’re thinking….You’re going on a vacation! how can you possibly be upset…and that is the selfish part….if i had known our graduation would have been on that date i wouldn’t have put my vacation on that time. I also think that the so-called “grad comittee” really dropped the ball on the grad party…our class didn’t even fundraise!!! That’s what really gets me the lack of organziation from the comitte….some leaders…..most nursing classes start fundrasing and planning in third year!!!!!!! or so i am told…..
So there is my selfish rant…very upset at the “grad comitte”…upset i don’t get to buy a nice prom dress…and upset that i’ll be missing out on a party that i can only have once…..even if i am going to on a vacation….it’s still very dissapointing…and i am quite aware i’m sound selfish but i can’t help how i feel…..

Nursing Update
Hi everyone,
First off, i’m sorry for the very very delayed posting. I have been very busy both with school and life. Anyways here is a nursing update….
I am done school and therefore have my Bachelor Of Science in Nursing degree. I cross the stage on June 4th and write the CRNE on June 3rd. I am very nervous about this exam because if I do not pass than my entire four years was a waste of time and money. I am comforted in knowing that God knows what he has planned for me and it is good. Doesn’t mean i don’t have to study though
not a fun of studying things.
I am now working as a nurse at two hospitals. Before we are allowed to work on the floor we have to attend workshop #1….where we learned that in nursing study has shown that we go trhough “transition shock” were it will take approx. a year to feel confident. In around month 3-8 we are expected to feel doubt, uncertainty and question our career choice. You can imagine how scary this was to hear. Either way I am willing and eager to learn and grow as a nurse and help promote health and health awareness….GO NURSES GO!! woot!
p.s- Go Canucks Go!
